Purpose and Objectives of the Conference

Back to Conference 2004 page

  • To encourage and support social engagement by a diversity of faith communities in order to strengthen the social fabric of Boulder County and enrich its social capital.

  • To invite all types of faith congregations to work together toward the common purpose of creating stronger, more caring communities through partnerships with community agencies; and to foster interfaith collaboration in this process.

  • To gather information about the kinds of support faith communities might need to create and sustain these partnerships and collaborations Participants will learn about:

    • The relationship of spirituality and social engagement.

    • How service to the community is intrinsic to the practice of religious faith in diverse traditions

    • How faith leaders view interfaith collaborations and social agency partnerships

    • Existing collaborations

    • Current and future opportunities to get involved

    • Available support for partnerships and collaborations
