Conference 2004 Report
On November 19, 2004 Restoring the Soul:
Faith and Community Partnerships presented its second annual
conference on social engagement. The conference "Needs
and Dreams" was
a great success and met its intended purpose
and objectives. The senior faith leaders of over two hundred
and twenty congregations were invited to participate as our
guests and over twenty percent attended. A survey of the hundred
and forty plus participants from service agencies, faith communities
and interested citizenry indicated that the majority appreciated
the components of the conference and found the keynote speech,
the faith leader panel, the presentation on social capital,
and the eleven workshops "very helpful."
Comments by attendees:
The Conference was fantastic on so many different levels!
Very thought provoking, well-organized and enjoyable. All the
speakers were excellent. The variety of sessions was wonderful
- the keynote address, panel discussion, presentation by Eric
Swanson, and workshops were all superbly presented and stimulating.
I have attached a description of my program and would appreciate your help in finding a faith based organization to work with.
I want to congratulate you on the successful conference!
It was soulful, educational, and motivational. I was glad
to be there.

Restoring the Soul promotes and supports effective sustainable partnerships between faith communities and human service agencies in Boulder County. We network and broker partnerships, and act as a clearing house for information, training and resources to respond efficiently to community needs.
As a result of the conference a significant number
of diverse faith communities have asked for our assistance
in finding interfaith partners and service collaborations
to suit their constituencies.
